Property Rates Are Not the Only Thing Going Up!
In a press release dated February 22, 2002, the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission reported that job discrimination complaints are at their highest level since the mid-1990's. In the year ending September 30, 2001, over 80,000 charges were filed against private employers. Further, the report noted that as the baby boomers continue to age, the number of EEOC charges is expected to increase.
As property insurance rates rise, some of your clients are considering cutting back or eliminating certain "discretionary" insurance purchases. The numbers tell the story. Your clients need to protect themselves against the rising tide of employment practices related litigation. As their insurance agent, you need to remind them of this fact.
Through its broad Private Choice Policy, the Hartford's Middle Market Department is actively seeking to provide this and other important protections to your middle market clients.
